My piece "Atomic Alchemy" was shown at the Stained Glass Association of America's annual conference in June 2015, and appears in the Summer 2015 issue of the Stained Glass quarterly

CHESTER COUNTY STUDIO TOUR , Location #49

May 15-16 2021   Saturday 10-6  Sunday 11-5

I am pleased to be a participant in the Chester County Studio Tour, after being a previous exhibitor in the Delaware County Tour in my old studio location.  My display will feature a new series of painted stained glass panels inspired by botanical illustration and art nouveau.   I have always enjoyed creating highly detailed, labor-intensive pieces, but during the quarantine period this past spring I found myself wanting to work in a more free, spontaneous way.  Some early experiments and ideas brought forth a new series of collage-style abstract color studies in stained glass, which I am excited to present during the open studio as well.  I will present a live demonstration each day at noon. Saturday's demo will cover traditional stained glass painting and Sunday's demo will cover the start-to-finish process of designing and building a window. For more information about the studio tour visit https://www.countystudiotour.com/

COVID SAFETY

I will be continuing to follow recommended safety guidelines and ask that guests please wear a mask while visiting the studio. To help accommodate generous physical distancing, I will be moving much of my display to canopy spaces outdoors, and will limit the number of visitors indoors at the same time.  Both indoor and outdoor display spaces are wheelchair accessible.

12:00-12:30 Glass Painting
I’ll demonstrate and explain the technique of traditional stained glass painting using kiln-fired vitreous paint, and how it has been used in both ancient and modern windows.

The studio frequently takes on large-scale conservation and restoration projects of historical stained glass windows from churches, public buildings, and private residences. I’ll speak about some of the processes and treatments involved, with a slide show of recent work.

Open Studio Saturday 12/17/2022

The studio will be open to visitors from 10-4 on Saturday December 17 with a more eclectic selection of experimental and quirky pieces than you'll find in my typical gallery offerings. Stop by and say hello!

I am pleased to have had my work selected for the American Glass Guild's annual juried show, American Glass Now, for 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.  The exhibition is concurrent with the guild's annual conference, and has also been displayed in the National Cathedral in Washington, DC each year starting in 2015.

I designed a stained glass window for the Hudson Valley Seed Library's 2015 collection of Art Packs.  Each year, the seed library commissions work from a diverse group of artists to adorn its packaging, and holds an accompanying exhibit entitled  Art of the Heirloom.  Read more about the exhibit, and my piece, Tricolor Bean Blend, in this New York Times article from November 19, 2014.  Seeds with my package design are available here.
